Residential Air Conditioning in Peterborough

Peterborough is a cathedral city and one of the fastest growing cities in the UK, with a residential landscape that reflects both its long history and its significant planned expansion from the 1960s onwards. Across the PE1, PE2, PE3, and PE4 postcodes, the city offers an exceptionally broad mix of property types, from older terraced and period homes in established central neighbourhoods to large post-war housing estates, modern new-build developments, and the many villages that now sit within the wider Peterborough unitary authority boundary. Many homes across the city have been extended and modernised over the years, with open-plan living areas, home offices, garden rooms, and loft conversions that benefit from efficient and reliable year-round air conditioning.

With fast East Coast Main Line connections into London Kings Cross in around 50 minutes, Peterborough is a well-established commuter city, and the growing number of residents working from home makes comfortable indoor temperatures throughout the day an everyday priority for many households. As summers across the East of England become increasingly warm, air conditioning is a practical and growing investment across all property types in the city.

We regularly install systems in:

• Bedrooms
• Living rooms and open-plan spaces
• Home offices and studies
• Loft conversions and extensions
• Garden offices and studios
• Conservatories

Benefits for homeowners include:

• Quiet, efficient temperature control
• Improved indoor air quality
• Lower energy costs
• Heating and cooling from one system

Our engineers will assess your property and recommend the most suitable system based on room sizes, layout, insulation, and how you use the space.

Great service from everyone at I-HT. From the initial enquiry, quote and installation, everything was brilliant. The installers and electricians did a great job on the hottest day of the year, which included crawling around in our loft which must have been 40c ! They left everything very tidy. We are now enjoying cool air in the long hot summer.
Thanks again.

After thoroughly explaining how it would look both inside and outside the installation was very neatly done with no damage to the decor. We were shown how to use the remote and helped to download the app and shown how to control the unit remotely. We couldn’t be happier with the service

Really wish I’d had air con installed years ago. Finally went for it after a recommendation from my electrician. Lee came out really quick to do the survey even when in a heatwave. I was offered an installation date quicker than I thought as I was going for a single unit. I was pleasantly surprised with the price too. Michael was a top installer. Can’t believe how tidy he left it. Was cleaner than when he arrived 🙌 genuinely kind and diligent with his work. Was such a good experience he’s coming back in August to fit an upstairs one. Can’t get a better compliment than that. 10/10 I-HT and the office team. Thanks ☺️ very much

I had I-HT install an air conditioning system at home, the guys who came round were great, very punctual and completed the install in around 4 hours and left the place clean and tidy. Installation was extremely neat and professional, and would recommend them over any other.

You may find cheaper quotes, but you do not want to cheap out when it comes to a quality job and on going customer service. On that note, they were not expensive - just a fair price for outstanding work and customer service.

A lovely, friendly and professional company to deal with and they're local too!! Easy to book our service with them. Engineer was on time, rang to say he was on his way as well. He was efficient, courteous and gave some helpful tips about the air con unit. No hesitation in using the company again next year for our service. We'll done I-HT - top marks!!

I am just so impressed with this company. From the initial site visit with Lee East which was informative, responsive to our requirements and extremely thorough, through to office staff and the installation of our aircon unit by Jim the whole experience has been stress free and excellent. Lee came within 4 days of an initial enquiry and was very reassuring about what could be installed and where internal and external equipment could go (unlike a previous different company). He sent a full quote with options for equipment and prices. We went ahead with I-HT and paid a deposit on the phone and 2 weeks after the initial consultation the technician Jim arrived promptly at 8.30 and completed the install. He was totally professional, cleaned everything beautifully , explained clearly and easily and how to operate the AC and was a pleasure to have in the house. I really do recommend the company.

Beyond brilliant from first phone call, through installation, and beyond!
I don't have the vocabulary to express just how impressed I am with this company.
No pressure from then when we called, and no pressure after receiving the quote.
Curtis and Mikey turned up at exactly the time given for the installation, and they didn't stop working all day. They didn't even had a lunch break! They wouldn't even let us vacuum after as they didn't want to put us to any trouble!
The installation is perfect and we're so happy.
And the cost was inexpensive compared to other quotes!
Thanks so much to everyone :o)

Fantastic experience with I-HT for my residential install - I had 8 units installed; 7 in the house and 1 in an external garden room.

My first touch point was with Lee who came out to do a site audit and produce a quote for me. Lee seemed very knowledgeable, gave me some good advice, answered all my questions, and most importantly was incredibly patient while my wife and I debated the correct positioning of air con units in each room for what must have seemed like hours on end.

Lee’s quote was good and he was very responsive while iterating on it and tweaking it.

Electrician (Lewis) also came out to do a site audit. Spent quite a bit of time at the house with me weighing up the options and making a recommendation on the best approach. Again, really seemed to care about doing a decent job (and spoiler alert - he DID do a fantastic job on the day). He even tidied up some of the existing electrical works as he went and left the place looking better than when he started.

Installers Jim and Sam were fantastic. They were incredibly flexible working around our two babies needing naps etc, and they were just nice friendly guys. Jim also kindly moved one of the units after he’d installed it because I changed my mind about the location and refused to complain about this despite me saying it was okay and deserved. Nothing was too much trouble for them.

Received an aftercare call following the install.

The whole experience was just decent from start to end.

Commercial Air Conditioning in Peterborough

Peterborough is one of the most commercially significant cities in the East of England, with a strong and diverse economic base anchored by its exceptional transport connectivity. The city sits at the convergence of the A1(M) and the East Coast Main Line, making it one of the UK’s most important logistics and distribution hubs, with large-scale warehousing and distribution centres for major national retailers operating across the city’s extensive commercial and industrial estates. Alongside the logistics sector, Peterborough has a significant manufacturing presence including Perkins Engines, a major global engine manufacturer, as well as a broad range of office-based businesses, professional services firms, retailers, and hospitality venues serving the city’s large and growing population.

We design and install commercial air conditioning solutions tailored to the individual needs of Peterborough businesses, whether you operate a city centre office or retail unit, a customer-facing hospitality venue, a larger commercial facility on one of the city’s business parks, or a manufacturing or logistics operation in the PE1, PE2, PE3, or PE4 area.

Commercial customers benefit from:

• Stable indoor temperatures throughout the working day
• Improved air quality for staff and visitors
• Enhanced comfort and productivity
• Efficient performance across multi-room or open-plan environments

We plan every installation around your building layout, operating hours, and occupancy levels to minimise disruption to your business.

Types of Air Conditioning Systems We Install

We supply and install all major air conditioning system types across Peterborough and the surrounding Cambridgeshire area, including:

Split & Multi-Split Systems

A flexible option for single rooms or multiple areas. Split systems are well suited to individual rooms, while multi-split configurations allow several indoor units to run from a single outdoor unit. Multi-split systems are a practical and popular choice across Peterborough’s wide range of residential and commercial property types.

Wall-Mounted Units

The most common and cost-effective choice for residential and smaller commercial spaces. Wall-mounted units are efficient, easy to install, and deliver strong airflow without taking up floor or ceiling space.

Ceiling Cassette Units

Fitted discreetly within a suspended ceiling, these units distribute air evenly in four directions. They are well suited to offices, retail spaces, and larger commercial rooms where balanced airflow and a clean, professional finish are important.

Floor-Mounted Units

A practical solution for rooms with limited wall availability. These units sit low to the ground and provide quick, direct heating and cooling, making them ideal for conservatories, older properties, and rooms with non-standard layouts.

Ceiling-Mounted Units

Designed for long or narrow spaces where wall and floor mounting is not suitable. These slim units fix directly to the ceiling and deliver strong airflow without compromising the room.

We install trusted brands including Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin, Fujitsu, and Worcester Bosch.
